I am doing these for my son's kindergarten class, pink for the girls and blue/red for the boys. I am using all the designs in the set to do the whole class. The card stock is what I had on hand already from some long ago clearance section. And, of course, the fabric is always there in my stash. Clipping the threads around the lettering is a booger, though.

I love this idea! I had never paid much attention to these designs, but I'm going to check them out now. I love simply stitches designs. Your work is a true labor of love for those children.

I hope those little ones know how lucky they are! I, too, have passed right over those designs, but they're downright adorable, especially as you have used them on the card and with the embellishments. Nice work.

Sew simple, yet sew sweet! Cute flower hole punches for the ribbon. I never think of doing cards. That's a great way to use any test stitch out's that you make of a design. Just cut them out and put them on a card.

Those are really cute. And, you know what, by having your child give those out at school, it's a great way to let other parents know that you do embroidery. I'm going to have to do that with my son.

That is what I was thinking, too! I had told my dh what I was doing and he thought I was crazy. He might have been picturing something bigger and more elaborate, not sure.

Might I suggest stamping the back of the card with your contact info then? Otherwise a kindergartner (or most elementary kids for that matter) won't have any idea you made it.
I think the idea of making them is great, and the added perk of "getting your things out there" is a great bonus as well!

That's a great idea, since I know from experience that my son usually has no idea what his classmates last names are. :)

I was putting two designs with the sayings on my bigger hoop and then I just cut out two while it stitches two more. It took like nine minutes to stitch two of them. It took me a few minutes to trim all the threads off. Slap some glue on the back and center it on the card. Embellish away!
I come up here and embroider when Abby is napping and when she goes to bed at night. She goes at 7 pm sharp! Sometimes I bring her up here and she plays while I work if I have alot to do.
I don't know where I come up with ideas. It literally is alot of sitting and thinking!

Well, stranger! How have you been lately? We missed you around here. It's good to have you back on the boards!
The blue one is alot clearer in person than in the photo. i am going to use a bigger gingham fabric for the next ones. I think that will help alot.

Stamp it or make up a business card and attach it to the back. Cute idea for sure for those children to take to classes, indeed! You gals are great brainstormers!

Yes, I was thinking a few of the designs from this set could be used on other items besides Valentines. I guess it is great to be able to buy a design set and have so many uses for it!
