I made this card using one of the Valentine's design. I sewed it on Bridal tulle with wash away stabilizer. I cut close to the design, then took a soldering iron and melted away any remaining tulle from the edges. (just have to be careful not to melt the thread...easy to do) I opted to lose the ribbon tie from the design, and added crystals to the ruffle. Then I used glue dots to fix it to the front of the card. I love the design. I wanted to do this as soon as I saw it. I knew it would look great.

Yea, I know. We have a wedding in a few months that we'll be attending and some of those designs would be very good for that.

When I think of embroider card, I always think of using the card stock. This is great! And it was so obvious. I will have to make some cards for Easter!

Wow, that's really sad you don't have that. I know that I've done projects like free standing lace where you'd use the wash away stabilizers on organza, or even on felt where you wouldn't need any stabilizer. I did use the wash away stabilizer on the organza too though. You could try without it though; it might work. Stitching on the felt though worked wonderfully.

Great card! I love mixing thread with paper. It looks like the embroidery is raised a bit off the paper. What did you use to stick the design to the paper?

I just used glue dots which are used for paper crafting. The thickness of the stitching must make it look raised off the paper. :)

Like Vicki said you could stitch on felt then trim it close to the design.
If you leave a little border around the edge it looks nice.
Like on this little flower I did as a practice stitch out.
I liked it so I cut it out and pinned it on my bulletin board. :D

Yes, the Valentine's card is very cute. I loved that set, to use for my little 3-and 5 year old gd's. I had planned on having something done for them to give them at Christmas so they would be ready for Valentines day, but no such luck, too much to do for Christmas! So that will be my next project. The cards are a very unique for someone special!

I'm not sure what is the best but I use Beacon "GEM-TAC" permanent adhesive. I believe I either found it at Wal-mart or AC Moores.
