Here are a few aprons I've made to hopefully keep my clothes semi-clean during my art classes. It's amazing how messy I can get with and without my students' help! There is a little embroidery on the pockets, but it's just some monogramming so I felt it would fit better on this forum. Hope you enjoy!

Stunning!
I love the paisley fabric - very colorful.
The mono makes a nice touch. :)

Thanks. The fabric is a Michael Miller print ...I think. I'm pretty sure I bought it online, and I bought WAY too much. So you guys will probably see it again when I post some burp cloths and bibs that I am currently using it on.

Thanks artsiegirl. I love this site. I am addicted. My hubby thinks I'm crazy.

My husband thinks I'm crazy too! In fact, he's complaining tonight that I'm not "socializing" with the rest of the family enough (aka - watching the tube.)

Yours does that too? Sometimes I just don't want to sit and watch TV either. Better things to do. Like chatting on the puter or embroidering. :D

Exactly! Right now the tv volume is up quite loud to cover the sound of my machine. I'll bet the sewing room addition is completed faster than we expected if I continue to make this much noise!
By the way, sorry about those photos. I didn't realize how dark they would appear on screen.

I have to add that the paisley fabric is my favorite, also! It is gorgeous. I just so happened to be at Hobby Lobby today and picked up some paisley fabric. I saw some some bolts of different colors. Is this print coming back??

According to my fashionista sister..paisley and damask are both huge patterns right now. I love them both, and I especially love to mix them with other prints.

They are. I'm on another message board having nothing to do with sewing or embroidery but it's filled with young Moms and they are all forever posting things from other websites they see and want to buy for their babies with paisley and burberry plaid and plenty of them are using Damask for their nurseries.
Cute aprons. I love Michael Miller fabrics. I've seen them online a lot. Isn't he also the one that has all the Dick & Jane fabrics? I LOVE those.

I'm pretty sure he is the one with those Dick & Jane Fabrics. I love all the retro things...however, I do feel really old when I see things I grew up with being called retro!

HA! Yea, I know what you mean but hey, at least it's not "antique" yet. :D

I used a pattern for these, but to be honest I'm not really all that thrilled with the fit after wearing it most of today. The ties are a little high for my taste (they ride up in the back.) My favorite aprons were made by taking a store-bought one apart and creating a pattern from it. I wanted to try this pattern since it had several styles included, but I'll go back to my old tried-and-true one next.

artsiegirl-
that's the reason I asked about the pattern. I'm 5'2" and almost everything needs to be adjusted. I've found that by taking things apart, it works much better.:D
I need a pattern going the other direction. My son just started a new business selling gas fireplaces and gas barbeque grills. I would like to make him some aprons for men and I know some of his customers have bigger tummies and a couple customers I know are very tall. I need to do more than just add a few inches to the bottom, but don't want to reinvent the wheel. Suggestions?

I'm going to go online to look for that Michael Miller fabric. I love your apron!!!
I have a apron right now that I am doing for my daughter. I will be using some of the "Kiss the Cook 1" designs by Rene Lindgren. I'll try to post a picture when I am done.

You're welcome. Now you will need to buy more designs to put on all the aprons you can make from there. LOL

Great idea except I'm broke from buying all that Michael Miller fabric!:(
I love your aprons, too. I like the way the pockets are so user-friendly and functional. I don't need two big rectangles that I can hold a puppy.
I love your aprons. They look fantastic. I can only sew a few basic items but I might have to try and tackle this project. I love the fabric!!
