View Full Version : Cheap or Thrifty
I go to garage sales, thrift stores, sidewalk sales, anywhere where I can get a deal. Is that cheap or thrifty? I buy blanks at these places and then embroider on them and you have a whole new item.

I call it thrifty when you can save money and still have a nice item.

Most certainly thrifty! Why pay more when you don't have to?
That's being wise with your money.

Garage sales and thrift stores is where I have found some of my placemats I use for placemat purses. I pillowcases for pillowcase dresses. I also found some nice dark pink fleece blankets at the thrift store a couple of months ago. It's good to go into these places thinking outside the box. What can you take from it and reuse?

I vote with thrifty. Actually I would refer to it as "recycling"

I call that thrifty and smart. I do the same thing. I can't wait for garage sale season to start again.
I definately agree that it is thrifty-I am always looking for a bargain.

I vote for Thrifty & recycling. It also make for unique items as they are different than the "blank" products that are mass produced (nothing against those either).
I bought a bunch of wool sweaters (all different sizes and patterns) from Goodwill that I am planning on felting and then making into pot holders, mittens, accessories, etc. Don't know when i will get around to it though. Too many projects!!!!!!
