I thought it would be neat to show Jami & David the results of their $25 store credit from the 100 posts. I have wanted these chicken designs since the first time I visited this site. I have no idea why they caught my eye...I'm really more of an artsy-city kind of girl, but these were just so cute! When I purchased the red gingham, I intended to stitch something for my neice with the Georgia Bulldog colors, but after purchasing the chickens, the fabric just begged for this design.:girl:

What a fun outfit! I'm guessing that those cute pom poms wash up pretty well? I've seen them on several projects and they are so cute! I've used them a few times myself but not on something that requires much washing. The hat on the letter is darling!

Thanks:) Everything that I've made with the pom poms has washed up pretty well, but you do have to be careful not to wash anything that tends to have lint with them. I also wash all of my items in cold water and on gentle. So far...so good!

Oh, I likey! The whole way you put it together is just awesome. Gingham is our best friend. I guess if I was put on a deserted island and they gave me a choice of what fabric I wanted with me....it would have to be a gingham!
Keep up the great work! :)

I really feel addicted now. I found myself going thru every design to see which ones I would like to "build my library" with. To many decisions. I don't have any little ones at home anymore. No little ones on the way, yet. But lots of ideas.:elefant:

That is too cute, good job girl...haven't had time to decide what designs to get yet, will work on that when I get back, this is a very busy month. I will probably take March for projects so I can get some done. I want to make a couple of dresses for my granddaughter. She is at that perfect stage.

nice and i love the fabrics too. they look very cosy. are they cotton or have a special term for this type of fabrics? i didnt know that there's such designs at embroidables. those that catch my eyes are the very 'kiddish' kind for babies. :D

ok artsie gal are you ready for the new school year to begin. when are you coming to my school this year. What cute things have you done over the summer. Can't wait to talk to you about all your projects. I found those chicks on the website, I'm thinking about embroidering some tea towels with that motif. There are so many things I want from Jami's site. It is hard to make up my mind. What have you found to be the most useful. Pam

I'll be at your school in January, I suppose. We'll have a ball chatting Embroidables! They may not be able to tolerate us at lunch though! I've had a crazy summer, and it's unreal that it's officially over in 3 more days!

Actually, I've found all of my designs from here to be important to me. They're like my "go-to" designs when I'm thinking of a baby gift, retirement, birthday, etc. I thought of you the very first time I saw those chickens (I think I told you that last year.) It looks as if you'll be getting some new designs soon...only 2 more posts to 100! Congratulations ahead of time! Reckon you'll make it to 100 before school starts back?

Ouch. Only 3 more days for you? Is that because of teacher meetings, etc? I can't believe the kiddos would be going back so soon. It seems like only yesterday you all were celebrating the end of school. My, oh, my!

Actually, we only have 3 or 4 days of teacher planning, so the kiddos come back either Thursday or Friday. (Isn't it awful that I don't even know the date for the first day of school?) Heaven help me, this may not be my best start to a year!

Artsiegirl, you are well named! LOL. Very cute and chic! I have also found the ball fringe to be washable, but mine are attached to a terry towel, which of course sheds lint, so I pick the lint out of the balls, and only use them for company.

Unfortunately this is pretty much when we start back each year. We get out at the end of May and go back in August. It's almost 100 degrees most days in August, and we're all so sluggish that it's kindof comical to see us dragging in and out each day! The worst days are when you have outside duty in the mornings. Humidity attacks first thing in the morning around here. Ugh!

You're so sweet Carol! After Summer break, I do indeed feel very artsie (by May though...there's not alot of creativity left in me!)

I once put the pom-poms on a chenille bib (one of my first projects with it) and I didn't pre-wash the fabric or anything! It was such a cute bib with some of that Michael Miller brown, pink, and aqua paisley and then the dark brown pom-poms. Oh what a mess! So you do have to be careful what you put it on and how you launder it. But it's just too fun to leave it off!

Jami our kids go back to school early too here in IL but in WI they actually made a state law that schools must start after Labor day. The did that because it affected so many of the businesses in the Wisconsin Dells and other resort areas when the kids left them short of help and they still had vacationers there. You should have seen the people screaming about the fact they made a state law that affected a child's education just to please businesses that brought in tax dollars.

Oooooooh I am SOOOOOO jealous! Take pics of the Budwieser Clydesdale team in the parade tomorrow for all of us to see. :D And have some brats for me.

I'm over North of Rockford, IL right on the state line. I can see WI from my front yard.

Artsiegirl,
It's pretty much the same down here. Our teachers come back on the 11th and school starts on the 18th. I work year round so it's been pretty quiet but has started to get busier with the back to school workshops. ahhhhhh

In my experience, they do wash up really well, but make sure to wash them really well before you ever use them. I put them on a kitchen towel I was making for a friend, and used the red. When I went to wash out my stabilizer, they faded horribly. I ended up having to remove them and carefully bleach out the area. It worked, but was a real pain and took forever.

I am a co-worker with Artsiegirl, Here it is August 23 and we are in our third week of school. I can remember (ok I am going to date myself) when school started after Labor Day and got out the the last day of May. I don't think my education suffered any from the 3 month vacation. The children begin to get tired of school in January because it seems as if they have been going forever. Out state superintendent is asking the schools to start later next year, after Aug. 16. It is so hot and humid here in August you can't even risk the kids going out for recess because of health issues. Thank goodness for air conditioning. As an educator, I sometimes feel that we are pushing our children a little too fast. They don't seem to have time to play and be a kid. I often have to teach my fourth graders how to play games like red rover, jump rope, jack stones etc. However, we all endure. Dont' get the wrong idea, I love teaching and have been doing it for 32 years. This may be my last. Thinking about trying something else.

My two youngest daughters are in college now to be teachers. One wants to teach K5 or 1st grade and specialize in special education. The other one wants to teach 4th or 5th grade. Knowing that after 32 years you still love your job shows your love and devotion to children. I only hope that my daughters will feel the same way. They both love children but who knows after they start full time in a classroom. Just wanted to thank you for all of the mothers in the world for a job well done!
