I just ran across these photos of a quilt I made my granddaughter for her birthday. She lays on her bed and talks to the different animal/insects as she falls to sleep.

That is gorgeous! I love how you did the magnifying glasses with the animals and insects inside them. Incredibly creative! I'm not a quilter (I don't have near enough patience:eek: ) so I admire all of you that do. Thanks for sharing!

That's really great. Are those are all different fabrics with bugs that you used? How cool.

Absolutely gorgeous! Truly a work of labor and love!! My grandmother in Vidalia, GA has always made quilts for us growing up... I truly appreciate them now more than ever...We are going to see her in march and i was hoping she could show me a few things about quilting while we're there...is that possible or am i dreaming way too much!?

That is so beautiful! You have made an heirloom for your granddaughter to cherish forever. I wish I knew how to quilt! I have never seen that pattern you used.

You are awesome! What a beautiful quilt, absolutely exploding with colors and patterns. I adore the border, and the magnifying glass and critter theme is adorable. I can see why your little gal is loving it, and I'm sure she will treasure it all her life. Way to go, Nana!!

what a cute idea for a quilt. I just finished a double wedding ring for my DD. Boy did it take time. might have to keep the bug idea in the back of my mind for a future quilt.

The pattern "I Spy" came from the Better Homes and Gardens Quilts and More Summer 2006, Oh, the piano key border was just something I made up to go on the quilt. Some of the py glases have flipflops, kittens, birds, hot air balloons, dogs, lions, butterflies, frogs, etc.... You can get creative and put clear plastic over the glass area, change it out to fish bowls and put little fish in the fish bowls.

I love it! I've been wanting to make an "I spy" quilt for my son. Your quilt label is really cute too.

Yesterday my GD (almost 4) told me she wants a sewing machine so she can make a quilt like mine. That was one of the best compliments I have ever had. She said she would make me a quilt too! Grandchildren----got to love them.

Great Job! I'm sure she will love that quilt for many years.

What a fun quilt. As a fellow quilter, I know how many hours of tender loving care went into your creation. Thanks for giving the info on the pattern. I have a grandson that will love this quilt.
