hi!
i've always loved stuffed animals so couldn't wait for seth to be born so i could have an excuse to start buying them again! and i always loved beautiful *quality* ones. this is all seth would have.
before seth was born my sister bought printed fabric to sew into an animal - not even cotton!.. horrors - for a flat (as in pillow like) elephant. to me it was ugly, cannot tell you. actually it was an adorable print but it wasn't what i wanted or would ever buy him
joke's on me! that was his favorite little buddy until he was a year old or more. the elephant had a little braided tail to hang onto. just the right size as a baby pillow. it also had a distinct eye, which i guess babies really focus on
sorry to be so long, for me everything takes a story. :elefant:
the bunny, finally!
tonight i saw the most adorable bunny. it is also flat, two pieces like a pillow, front and back. it is a very chubby bunny in the "leaping" pose. all very soft design, cute like the little animals here.
the bunny was soft white chenille. he had a few spring flowers embroidered on the side. it amazed me how beautiful this bit of embroidery added. there was also an embroidery for the eyes. this could easily be done with a simple circle embroidery.
i think a soft knit chenille would be nice, make the edges fit more gently. baby knit terry, too.
you can just trace a bunny design that has a chubby, simple look. copy and blow up if it is small. just be sure to add enough extra on the edges so the bunny has depth. otherwise he will be just flat flat.
as for designs, i love the little "snuggle bunny" embroidery by Bryce & Madeline. even a little carrot top by B & M. there are other nice flower designs with all different looks.
this would also be a cute accent to throw on a sofa or little chair.
if you make one be sure to post!
