Sorry Dawn!:( I can say that as I sit here in balmy South Georgia. We were at 75 degrees some days last week, and we'll be around the low 70's this week as well! Of course, the weather radio went off at 2 this morning with a tornado warning, so you take the bad with the good. The other down-side is the pollen. Everywhere I walk my feet get covered with the evil yellow stuff, and I'm loaded up on allergy medications. Your snow is beginning to sound better and better to me now! Just kidding...I wouldn't trade this warmth except for maybe a day or two of fluffy white stuff!

I am right there with you Dawn! I am SO over snow this year. And the tornado AND the sleet AND the freezing rain. ALL OF THIS CR*PPY weather we've had this month. It can all stop now.
This big snow missed us this weekend, but it was nice enough to not leave us out of the fun. Instead we got tons of rain, sleet, and freezing rain. Of course, that melted much of the snow already on the ground from our 18" snowfall just a week ago and now ALL of that is frozen in huge chunks all over the roads. YUCK!
Our garage flooded this weekend from the amount of rain that we got yesterday and overnight it's now all frozen. UGH

StitchinGrandma,
Hope you didn't have to much damage with your flood. Hang in ther ladies, your spring will have sprung before you know it, just a few more weeks and your flowers will be blooming.
As for here, it is 85 with a 20-25 mph wind from the south. Hot, humid, even the plants are wilting this weekend. Too much too soon after all it is only Febuary, this summer will be a hot, hot, hot, one....

The frightful thought is that soon after the warm weather gets here it will all too soon be sweltering hot and we'll be wishing for cooler weather. Such a fickle lot we are!

 True, true, along with the sweltering hot comes the jurassic bugs. Oh, didn't I mention that Florida is the land of JURASSIC BUGS?

Yes, that is just one of many. The saying is "We have mosquitos big enough to valet park a buick. In other words our bugs are hugh here, 5" graass hopper, hugh snakes, I guess it goes with living in the tropics.

My M-I-L lived in Titusville for years, and we spent a fair amount of time in your area. We have a great photo of one of those grasshoppers. Amazing size, and gorgeous coloration. Our (non)favorites, though, were the bird size cucarachas (or close relatives of same). Yewwwwww.

It is not to bad unless one of those flying cucarachas gets in the house, then it's Katy bar the door, Keneta is on her way out!!! Now that's a bad night or day for that matter. My M-I-L lived in Titusville for years, and we spent a fair amount of time in your area. We have a great photo of one of those grasshoppers. Sorry about all the snow you're getting this week. Curt actually complained about how cold it was outside this morning. He NEVER complains so I know he's getting tired of these sub-zero temps. It's either snowing over here or sub-zero. NOTHING else. He needs to go buy some salt since our garage is still a skating rink from the flooding. UGH
Yesterday he said he could put up a wooden fence on either side of our driveway and hold a hockey game it's so bad. I know you won't agree but, I'd rather have the snow than all this ice.

we've missed so many storms. in mid-missouri we are almost always right on the south edge of the north edge of whatever is going through.
however, last december we caught the ice storm as badly as anyone. that is just *right* where we live. 15 miles north they had no clue. we had thousands of dollars of damage. even panels of our 6' redwood fence.
i put up pictures for my husband to show to some family around the country. they are kind of interesting if you would like to see
http://web.mac.com/cccamper/icestorm/ice2007.html
hope i got that right.
btw, the Guppy is our new tiny teardrop trailer. the Whale is our 31' vintage Airstream we've been working on for a while.

I haven't seen too many of the jurassic bugs here in my area. What I hate is the love bugs. Not looking forward to them. I also don't like when the lizards get in the house. It's a funny site watching me chase them around with the vacuum trying to suck them up.
My hubby and I hated the cold and snow enough that we made the move south. Have not regretted it, yet. It's funny, we were complaining this morning cause it was 54 degrees and we thought that was cold. Guess it's all relative. I'm sorry y'all are having such nasty weather. Wish I could make it all go away for you.

Yes...I think someone has enjoyed her snow days from the looks of those chicklets projects posted today:p !
I'm in Colorado and we have snow, but the best part of the snow is it goes away the next day. Unbelievable, but it's so fluffy and dry, it can snow 30 inches one day and the next day the roads are clear. The BEST part, however, is no bugs. Many houses don't have screens and you can leave the windows open. I grew up in SW MO and we had chiggers and mosquitoes and grasshoppers and creepy-crawly things everywhere. No bugs, no humidity, but lots of snow. Guess have to take the good with the bad.

We're planning a motorcyle trip to CO in June. I've never been any further west that St. Louis. I'm so excited about getting to do this. I hear CO is beautiful. Hopefully, no snow, though :D :D

Sorry about all the snow. My family lives in Southwest Wisconsin, and my mom says they have broken the record for the most snowfall. My mom is handicapped and hasn't been out of her house in over 3 weeks, just too much bad weather.
We rarely get snow here in the high desert, we don't miss the cold much.

We rarely get snow here in the high desert, we don't miss the cold much. We have broken lots of records. It's insane. I feel for your Mom because I was going stir crazy last week as it had been over a week since I'd left the house. I HAD to get out of here so hubby took me out to eat somewhere.

Dawn, How is you weather lately? Yesterday and today we have had a touch of winter...high 53 and 57, lows 40 & 47. Tomorrow back to 76 and then to 82. Glad our cold (to you...cool) days only come about every blue moon or so. What flowers do you plant in the spring? Make sure you send me some photos...I love flowers, but I live on sand with a few weeds, a little grass, in the middle of what use to be an orange grove. Now I have grapefruit, orange, tangelo, tangerine, lemon and lime trees. Due to the citrus fungus for the last couple of years I have one of each left.

Hey Roseanne,
How are things with you? Wow! Can you believe our temperatures the last couple of days, it has been too cold for me. I actually turned on the heat yesterday, but will open the windows tomorrow and probably the air by Monday. Glad warm is back for Saturday, my DH is going to a Fund raising skeet shooting in WPB on Saturday. Me, I'm going to paint some used furniture I picked up at a used hotel furniture place today. The two dresser are 48" wide and the have three drawers each, good for fat quarters so I can get them out of the sunlight from my west window. Hope all is well with you.

I am doing well. Thank you for asking. I am so ready for the warm weather to get here and stay. I did turn the heat on this evening when I came home from work. Didn't turn it on last night, but sure wish I would have. Saturday's suppose to be pretty nice here, too, although I won't see most of it since I will be working. I really need to find some time to get in the sewing room and play with my new machine. I hear it calling to me, but by the time I get home from work, cook supper and clean up I am totally wiped out. Hope you have a great day and make sure you post some pictures of your furniture after you get it painted. I want to see how it turns out.

Make it stop! :bawling: Yesterday, almost 50 degrees. Late last night and overnight; lots of rain and by 3am changeover to freezing rain and by 5am it is supposed to begin the changeover to more snow.
We are under a flood warning, a dense fog warning, and also a winter weather advisory because of the freezing rain.

:knuddel: Ahh Vicki, I'm so sorry for you, the weather does seem to be extremely awful this year. Please tell Curt to be very careful driving in that stuff (you aren't going anywhere today are you? If so be very careful):creep: Just remember, March winds, April showers brings May flowers. Cheerup and smile, think good thoughts and what a great life you have, that should make you feel better.:)

It's been really bad this year. We've broken all records now. Wheeee. Nope, I can't go anywhere since his car is still dead in our side drive. :( Right now this doesn't bother me, but come Spring it's going to a lot I think.

Ah, remember those days not so long ago. It reached 95 here today and we are in our third month of drought (we had a sprinkle yesterday...5 minutes) then it was like a sauna. All of our grass is brown and now the powers that be put our island on water rationing for sprinkler systems, Hope everyone up north is enjoying their lovely weather, now where can I go to get out of this dreadful heat? My paradise will come back about the beginning of November. I guess it is only fair that you girls in Michigan and places have your turn at paradise. Enjoy!!!:itsme:

Right now, I'm in Frisco, Colorado and there is snow in the mountains. It's my first time here and I am awestruck at the beauty of the Rocky Mountains. Mike and I have traveled 2,274 miles on the motorcycle. We took 7 days to get here and have had a wonderful trip so far. We'll leave here on the 7th and head east to PA and then home again on the 18th.

Here's a peek. These were taken while we were riding. I was snapping pictures right and left. I think I took about 50 pictures just riding up into the mountains. It's so beautiful here.
I envy those who can have snow in their countries! I live in a Tropical country and temperature is always like 28 (VERY RARE) degree celsius to as high as 34 degree celsius. Normal days around 30 to 31 celsius degree. All year. Either its sunny, rainy or cloudy. haha. Nothing as Snowing.
So when i see snow in Japan and Korea, I am so delighted and love the -14 degree celsius and -2.5 degree celsius. Just to share a joke, my tour guide said he saw someone from another tour group (we split into 2) , one girl sticking out her tongue to taste the snow! For me, I'm eating and enjoying many many cones of icecream. Yum. Its fanastic to see the ice cream dont melt at such low temperature. In my country, before we even starts to eat, its already melting.
It might sound weird but imagine most of us never get to see snow before for 20-50yrs and even longer.
I am the same crab, well kinda..
In my town we don't get snow at all. In winter the coldest we get is -5c. Warmest we get in summer is around 35c. Ive only ever been in snow at ski fields! Have seen it in person on side of the road etc as well, but never actually been in it while its snowing.
And I just about had a heart attack with those bugs you mentioned. 5" grasshoppers?! SERIOUSLY?! That is HUGE! lol
I live about an hour and from where those photos were taken. Glad you're enjoying our state. Yes, there is snow here all year and while it is beautiful, it does get old about the end of May. We had snow in June, but I live at a high elevation. A few years ago, we spent the 4th of July in the mountains. I was wearing a down coat, watching fireworks being shot from the mountain top reflecting on the snow and ice-covered mountain lake. It was unforgettable.
Great outlet mall near Frisco; hope you got to check it out.

Saw the mall, but didn't get the chance to visit there. We spent most of our time riding and checking out all the scenery. Where abouts do you live, if you're an hour away?
I live in the foothills about 15 minutes south of Interstate 70; SW corner of Denver in the outskirts of Littleton, Colorado.
