I tried to get more than 12, but couldn't get it to take... Thought I'd put "Mrs. H." on one for Corinne's preschool teacher for a Valentine next year... then some for friends... some to sell....

Thanks so much! This was a great find. I picked up 12 sets for my blanks closet. That is a good idea for the teachers next year. It looks like Valentine's gifts for the women next year are taken care of! Thank you, thank you, thank you!:)

I was also going to ask you about making the names pop on the apron. Would you just embroider it in a red and make it bolder?

Thanks for this link justteachin! I'm also ordering some of these...what a great deal!

I was also going to ask you about making the names pop on the apron. Would you just embroider it in a red and make it bolder?

What about using applique to attach a white shape (oval, rectangle, heart)and then embroidering the name in red?

I was going to see about that when they arrived.... I'm thinking I'll use a slightly darker (but blending) shade of red with a strong, bold font....?

Applique is certainly another option.

I just can't wait to see them. :) Someone posted about them on a bargain mommy board I'm on and as soon as I ordered mine, I knew that I had to post here. (Yes, I *did* order before posting. :p ) Glad you were able to get some, too!

Those are too cute and what a bargain. I'm still contemplating the purchase. If I knew whether I could use my Bergners card on their site it would be easier. :D

ETA: Nevermind. ............ordered 10 of those. Not bad! 10 for the price of 1. Thanks

Wow, what a great bargain! Gotta get me a few. I wonder if they have them at their stores? I have one just right down the street and need to run over there anyway to grab something else.

HA! They are going to be out of stock from the Embroidables gang. LOL

OOH I must tell you this. I told my husband that I'd bought these and what a bargain they were. He agreed BUT said it looks like I just bought a large amount of practice fabric. roflmao HA! Such a brat.

Don't you just love a bargain? I just hope I can remember I have them come next January when it's time to do Valentine gifts...

Well, hey, there's a "how do you" question. How do YOU keep track of those things you buy ahead to have for such-and-such occasion? Do you sort in containers by season? Keep a database? I could use some suggestions :o

I put a reminder note to pop up in my Outlook program a few months ahead for sometihng like that which needs to be "created". Birthdays get a two week notice and any free designs on sites giving them away such as an alphabet get a reminder set for the dates they say each will be released. :D And NO! I'm not going to remind myself to remind you too. And all the items are in bins by product so all aprons are in one container, diapers another etc.

Just one more reason I should learn to utilize my computer more than I do. And while I hadn't thought about asking you to remind me, that's not a half bad idea, girl!
I do the bin thing, too, but I'm thinking I need a database of inventory on my computer so that I can sort by product, holiday, whatever. Just what I need. Another organizational project. ;)

Off to watch Idol!

I can say that for insurance puposes we all should have a listed inventory of ALL the items in our sewing rooms. There is a lot of money tired up in this hobby and in the terrible thought of a fire or worse where those things are taken away from us, having that inventoried list is essential in replacing those items.

So that you can stop putting me up on some pedistal .... nope. I do NOT have that list made myself. :D

Whew........... I was able to get onto the website this evening and get a few of those aprons. But, they sure were expensive, oh wait, that was the other things I couldn't live without. But I did find a cutting board that I've been looking for for about a year. What a great deal, 2 great buys and I didn't have to fight for a parking spot.

Wow...that was a good deal...but I came in too late again. I am not spending as much time on the pc as I was.

The inventory for insurance purposes is a very valid suggestion/ idea. I was just thinking we probably needed to review our policy (possibly switch providors)....and what needed to be added. I never thought about the 'supplies' and documenting them.

Well hello again. Yes, you need to come play with us more often.

Yes the supplies, especially things like all the extra feet for your machine and things like that because they add us very fast. Then the threads and any blanks you have etc. It can all add up to a large amount of money.

:hmpf: :bawling: I got an email about an hour ago saying my order is backordered. And it says this
PLEASE CONTACT US BY 03/27/2008 TO AVOID CANCELLATION OF YOUR ORDER (AS REQUIRED BY A FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION RULE).
http://assets.macys.com/oe/images/mcom/spacer.gif

I checked online and it did show a backorder status and then my order total BUT at the top of the screen it showed amount billed as DOUBLE my order amount.http://www.terpstra.us/images/vickiljt/Gifs/Attitudes/rant.gif The girl I spoke with evidentially thought I was stupid because she said that after putting me on hold and speaking to someone who works with the computer end that *I* must have hit the button twice when I ordered. HA! UMmmmmmmm NOT! IF I had done that why it my order confirmation have come with the correct number of aprons ordered AND the correct amount? Then four days later now online it shows the same info at the bottom of the screen but not at the top where it had double the order $ amount.

She told me that she can't do anything to fix that and that it's authorized a hold for that amount on my account but hasn't actually billed the account and won't until it's shipped. Wonderful. I said that she can't cancel this order or I won't get any as that item is obviously out of stock and won't process any orders now for that. DUH I said that it is something that's happening in THIER system and that they should be able to fix that error without cancelling my order. On hold again ....... she comes back and says, yes, we can call the bank and release the hold on that money but because there is only one order number it would release the total amount, not just half and then they can't promise I'd ever receive those items when they are back in stock because of the lack of authorized amount at the bank.

Yea, I'm not too happy and I think when they ran the orders that were all backordered they all authorized everyone's bank again. I told her that this better not happen with each update of my order or they could put a hold on all my money on that account over time.

OH and the expected ship date? 12/31/9999 Yea, NICE! I'm thinkin' I won't hold my breathe.

yup, I'm in the same boat. I received a confirmation that the order was being processed, then this morning I received the same e-mail as you did. guess I'll wait and see. I also questioned as to how the monies would be refunded as I paid partial on a gift card and the rest on my Macy's card. The operator had NO CLUE. figures.

Wonderful. UGH. I told the girl I spoke to that I'm not overly pleased as this is my very first order and possibly my last if this doesn't get resolved properly in the end. grrrrr

I meant to tell you that I had recieved an email saying my order would be shipping on or around the 26th. Well, I did not hear anymore until the first part of last week when they sent me an email saying it was backordered until forever. I got another email this weekend saying they had shipped one apron and the rest were backordered. It even had a tracking number. I called them, because they were charging me the whole amount. She said to go ahead and call them when I get my one apron in and see if my order has been updated and they will adjust accordingly. I guess we will see what happens!:)

I got another email this weekend too. I never posted because, well, I didn't feel like posting anywhere ha, but I wanted to see what I got in the package.

My email was very strange as well this last time because it said that "part" of my order has shipping and to see the order below for further details. Well, below there it shows one line with a quantity of 1 and then a 2nd line with the remaining quantity I ordered. None of those say backordred so I'm not sure what they are doing. They did however, as you stated, charge me the entire amount. I'll know more tomorrow when they are supposed to be delivered.

"Me too" to this one. I did, however, look at the shipping weight of whatever was shipped to me...9.30 lbs. had better NOT be for one apron  Truth be told, I don't know how 12 could weigh that much, but I'll be patient and wait till they are delivered. I'll check back in then.

Heather's order, by the way, was flat out cancelled. Go figure...

Great News! Just a few minutes ago, the UPS man brought a big box with 12 aprons in it! I was only expecting to get the one apron. I also had an invoice in the box for someone out in California. They got really good deals on what they ordered. I might have have to go to Macys.com more often. There was no personal info on the invoice and I called Macys to let them know I had recieved my aprons and somebody else's invoice.

Oops. I think getting someone elses invoice would spook me a bit ya know. Did that persons order have 12 aprons on there as well? Kinda strange. I question customer security when they send me someone elses personal info like that in with my order. I realize there's no billing info on the invoice but still, their name and address is there ya know.

I'm so glad you all got yours!! I got a cancellation email in my inbox before I even had a chance to call them! I was miffed to say the least. (And then the $9.00 igloo cake pan I grabbed 'cause it was cute and would make a fun snowday project... it shipped for as much as it cost! )

Well that's too bad you didn't get any. :( You're kidding? They charged (9 to ship a cake pan? That thing better be made from cast iron and not those aluminum types that Wilton cake pans are made from. Wow.

That's good that you all got in on the heart aprons. I'm sure the valentine's set will look really cute on them.

Shipping always kills you so I look for deals with free shipping or to be able to go in with someone....like you all did w/ the travel mugs w/ insert. I hate I missed out on those b/c they are so HOT right now! I'd love to see some finished projects, GIRLS!!!

OMG you are kidding? I'd be calling them. I bet you were charged the shipping costs for the entire order and not just that pan and when they cancelled the major portion of the order, they didn't adjust shipping charges.

I just checked their site and I'll guarantee you I'm right. According to the partial page copy below their shipping is based upon the total cost of the order, not weight. I'd call them and complain until I got a credit.
