Here is another Dolly Mama design on a microfiber tote bag. I learned a few things on this project.
1) For me, it is much easier to rip out both sides of the tote bag halfway down - instead of ripping one side all the way down.
2) These are the microfiber totes from Joann Fabrics - $4.99 regular price, a real steal with 40% coupon. BUT, the vinyl lining does not like the peel and stick stabilizer! Actaully, I guess it really does like it, because it stays with the stabilizer when pulling off hoop.
3) After the sticky stabilizer didn't work as planned, I tried a basting stitch instead. This seemed to work well, until I removed the bastings stitches, AND THE HOLES REMAINED. I decided I had to keep the bag for myself. :D But, after carrying the bag around for a week or so, I noticed that the basting holes all closed up. Too late, the bag is mine.
