Default Double sided sticky tape for hooping..

I heard yest, that instead of pinning something to the stabilizer that you don't want to hoop, you can use double sided sticky tape. Has anyone ever done that???

I've not heard of the double sided sticky tape very often but I have before. Most of the times I've heard about using that blue painters tape because you can stitch over that and it will tear off easily plus it won't leave the horrible sticky residue on your hoops that other things such as the double sided sticky tape will. The painters tape is going to be cheaper than the double sided tape and because it's made to be removed without leaving that residue it's "nicer" to your embroidery things.

I've used the blue painter's tape and it comes off very clean and doesn't seem to damage my stitches...however, I'm not sure I would substitute pinning or basting with just tape alone...try a sample first just to see how it turns out.

Ok, I'm trying this idea as well. I have some scrapbooking double sided tape that may work. Thanks for this idea, it will be attempted. I bet it will work great.
